PSP arrests seven individuals in the past week

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes14 September 2026 at 12:58

PSP Vila Real District Command carried out seven arrests between September 7 and 14, as part of its operational activity to combat crime aimed at ensuring public safety, order, and tranquility within its jurisdiction.

Of the seven arrests made, four individuals were detained for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, one for driving a motor vehicle without a legal license, and two for crimes against public authority.

Regarding road accidents, 11 traffic accidents were recorded, resulting in four minor injuries.

PSP made an appeal to all drivers to drive safely, adapting their driving to weather conditions and the state of the road surface, avoiding behaviors that diminish their capabilities, such as speeding or driving under the influence of alcohol, and not engaging in actions likely to cause distractions, such as using a mobile phone while driving.

Why this matters

Vila Real readers are directly affected by police activity in their region, since the reported arrests indicate concrete problems of road safety and local crime. PSP's appeal for safer driving behaviors is particularly relevant for those traveling on this district's roads, where accidents and driving under the influence of alcohol represent threats to everyone's safety.
