Lince Hotels Group refurbishes Hotel Turismo da Guarda

Diário de Viseu14 September 2026 at 15:05

Turismo de Portugal today signed the lease agreement for Hotel Turismo da Guarda with the Lince Hotels Group. The hotel had been closed since October 2010.

The Lince Hotels Group plans to invest between 15 to 20 million euros in the refurbishment of the property, contributing to the enhancement of the hotel heritage in the city of Guarda.

This investment represents an effort to reactivate a space that had remained closed for more than a decade, contributing to the tourism revitalization of the region.

Why this matters

The lease agreement represents the first step towards the reopening of a hotel closed for more than a decade in Guarda, with the investment of 15 to 20 million euros expected to boost the local economy through job creation and increased hotel supply in the region. This refurbishment also addresses the growing demand for tourism in the country's interior region.

STJ Recognizes PIS and Cofins Credit on Soybeans

The Superior Court of Justice recognized the right of agroindustries that purchase soybeans with PIS and Cofins suspension to use the grain as input for taxed products and claim ordinary credits of 9.25% on the acquisition value, establishing a favorable precedent especially for the biodiesel sector. The court rejected the National Treasury's understanding that the absence of collection at purchase would prevent crediting, highlighting that the non-cumulative system of PIS and Cofins has its own logic, different from ICMS and IPI.
