Arrow to invest 62 million in project purchased from Vanguard in Ancão

Jornal Económico14 September 2026 at 23:54

Arrow, a British fund manager owning residential complexes and one of the largest tourism operators in Portugal, will invest 62.3 million euros in Azuya Seed, a new luxury condo to be built between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, in the Algarve. The project, formerly designated "The Shores Residences," was acquired from Vanguard Properties in October of last year, two months before the death of the company's founder, Claude Berda, without the transaction value being disclosed.

Azuya Seed will comprise 21 apartments with unit types between T1+1 and T4+1 and prices starting from 990 thousand euros, with completion expected by mid-2028. This is the group's second investment in Ancão, following the launch of Azuya Salt in December 2025. The development is being carried out by Norfin SGOIC, an investment management and real estate asset company with more than two decades of activity in Portugal.

The architecture is signed by João Tiago Aguiar Arquitectos studio and interiors by Studio JV. Among the planned facilities are a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, coworking space and kids club, in addition to housekeeping, maintenance and rental management services, in a model described as "serviced living." Carlota Cid, Head of Sales at From:, a company within the Arrow group responsible for strategy, marketing and real estate commercialization, stated that the project "represents a new chapter in the commitment to the Golden Triangle."

The development is located next to Ria Formosa Nature Park and Ancão Beach, in an established area with restaurants, shops and golf courses. From: has in its portfolio assets in Vilamoura, Monte Rei, Palmares, Aroeira and Vale Pisão.

Why this matters

This 62.3 million euro investment represents a significant injection of foreign capital into the Algarve luxury real estate market, potentially influencing property values in the region. The project, which follows Azuya Salt launched in December, marks Arrow Group's second investment in the Ancão area, between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, directly affecting the high-end tourism and residential market in southern Portugal.
