The removal of secrecy from documents in the investigation into Banco Master opened a new front in the case of the R$ 97 million invested by the Maceió Municipal Public Servants' Pension Institute (Iprev) during the administration of former mayor João Henrique Caldas, known as JHC (PSDB), candidate for governor of Alagoas.
The material shows that the Federal Police treats Municipal Finance Secretary João Felipe Alves Borges as an investigated party and requested access to his banking, tax, and digital data. The investigation involves million-dollar contributions made by Iprev during JHC's administration in the city of Maceió.
The Federal Public Ministry considers it possible to deepen the investigation into JHC's conduct, who was the legal responsible party for the institute before the Ministry of Social Security and had the power to appoint and dismiss its leadership. By note, JHC denies irregularities and reaffirms that he is not investigated.
