Lagoa Académico Clube defeated Casa da Cultura de Loulé 33-19 to win the Algarve Handball Association Super Cup in senior men's handball. The match took place on September 13 at the Basic and Secondary School of Albufeira pavilion.
The competition marked the start of the 2026/2027 season and was part of the Albufeira European City of Sport programme. The Deputy Mayor of Albufeira, Jorge Carmo, was present at the match.
The event is organized by the Algarve Handball Association with the support of the municipality. The competitions continue on September 19 and 20 with the youth categories, where four trophies will be at stake.
On Saturday, September 19, the sub-16 categories play, with the women's final at 4 pm and the men's final at 6 pm. On Sunday, September 20, the sub-18 teams take to the court, with the same schedule repeated.
