The Professional School of Chaves welcomed its new students last Friday, during a session in the school's auditorium. This academic year has 100 new first-year students, bringing the total to 216 students distributed across 13 classes. The Chaves City Hall considers this number particularly significant, reinforcing the school's growth momentum.
The new students join five professional courses: Culinary and Hospitality Technician (Patisserie), Software Development Technician, Electronics and Automation Technician, Automotive Mechatronics Technician, and Communication, Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising Technician. The training offer aims to provide technical and professional skills to young people in the region.
The Mayor of Chaves, Nuno Vaz, attended the opening session, highlighting the school's role in preparing young people for the future. The mayor reaffirmed the Municipality's commitment as the promoting entity, emphasizing the importance of providing autonomy and better opportunities for professional integration to students.
The local authority also emphasized the investment in modernizing the school's equipment and resources, arguing that vocational education is a response to the need for qualified professionals, contributing to retaining young people and to the economic and social development of the territory.
