The 2026 edition of the Morar Mais Rio show, scheduled to take place from October 1st to November 15th, still hasn't had its venue announced. Initially, the event would occupy a historic mansion on Rua Osório Duque Estrada, in Gávea, but in July the Rio City Hall revoked the authorization previously granted to the organizers.
The decision was officially communicated to the Gávea Residents and Friends Association (Amagávea), which had requested the city hall to reassess the license after questioning the expected impacts on the region from holding the event.
According to the president of Amagávea, Luiza Carneiro, the opposition to the event was never directed at the event itself, but at the choice of address. She stated that the entity understood that the chosen location was inadequate for holding the show.
