The Supreme Federal Court (STF) will hold a historic plenary session to decide whether to authorize, for the first time in the Court's history, the investigation of one of its own justices. The session is scheduled to begin at 10am, amid the most serious crisis faced by the court in democratic times.
At the center of the case are 52 messages sent to Justice Alexandre de Moraes by banker Daniel Vorcaro, president of Banco Master. The messages were exchanged in the weeks leading up to Vorcaro's arrest.
Vorcaro was arrested on suspicion of commanding the largest fraud against the financial system ever recorded in the country. The content of the messages exchanged with Alexandre de Moraes will be the central point of the trial that could result in the first investigation of a Supreme Court justice in the Court's history.
