The European Parliament will debate responses to humanitarian crises related to Ceuta, the Spanish enclave in northern Africa. The MEPs intend to find a new way to respond to this type of emergency situation.
The European deputies consider that deeper cooperation with neighboring countries is needed to more effectively address this type of humanitarian crisis.
The situation in Ceuta highlighted the need for a coordinated European approach to deal with migratory flows and humanitarian crises at the external borders of the European Union.
