The Liberal Initiative party (IL) announced that it will await more explanations from the Ministry of Education before making any decision on a possible inquiry commission into the problems in national exams. The party leader, Mariana Leitão, chose to give the benefit of the doubt to Minister Fernando Alexandre, unlike what happened with the Ministry of Internal Administration, where the party had already called for resignations.
Mariana Leitão also criticized the PS's position, accusing the parties on the left of "hypocrisy" when they point out failures to the current government, considering that the Socialist Party's legacy in Education leaves much unresolved.
The chaos in national exams has been generating great controversy, with logistical and technical problems that affected thousands of students across the country. The IL remains vigilant but prefers to analyze the situation with more time before formally pronouncing on possible political responsibilities.
