Fifteen districts of mainland Portugal and the archipelago of Madeira are today under a yellow warning due to the forecast of continued hot weather, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The districts covered by the warning are Viseu, Évora, Porto, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Portalegre and Madeira.
The yellow warning is the lowest level of danger on the weather warning scale and indicates situations of risk for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
The IPMA forecasts that high temperatures will persist in these regions, maintaining the hot conditions that have been affecting the country in recent days.
